Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they affect rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms and conditions under which Tesco Stores Limited (“Tesco”) makes sports equipment and coaching sessions available to schools and childrens’ sports clubs under the Tesco Sport for Schools Scheme 2007.
- The Tesco Sport for Schools and Clubs Scheme (“Scheme”) is open to schools and children’s sports clubs in the UK and IOM only.
- To register for the Scheme, sports clubs must be amateur organisations registered with their recognised governing body or local authority, and cater for children under the age of 18.
- Applications from organisations other than schools and registered children’s sports clubs will not be accepted.
- There is no limit to the number of items or coaching sessions which may be ordered, but the Scheme is restricted to one order per school or club. Second or subsequent orders will be disqualified and the vouchers banked for use in Sport for Schools and Clubs 2008.
- The nominal cash value of each Tesco Sport for Schools and Clubs Voucher (“Voucher”) is 0.001p.
- All orders for equipment/coaching sessions and accompanying Vouchers must be received by Friday 18th January 2008. Any vouchers received after this date will be banked for use in 2008.
- Tesco cannot accept responsibility for Vouchers lost, stolen or damaged in the post. Please use a method of postage that will provide proof of delivery.
- Orders will only be accepted on the official order form from either your school specific mailing pack or from www.tesco.com/schools and in accordance with the ‘Ordering’ instructions on page 6 of this catalogue. The original order form cannot be amended once we have received it. Equipment correctly supplied in accordance with the order cannot be exchanged unless faulty. Statutory rights are not affected.
- Vouchers will be issued at Tesco stores and petrol filling stations (excluding ROI and Esso petrol filling stations associated with Tesco Express stores). One voucher will be issued for each £10 spent in a single transaction, excluding purchases from Concessions and Tobacco Kiosk. Vouchers cannot be claimed for purchases of prescription medicines, infant formulae, National Lottery tickets and scratchcards.
- The Scheme applies to purchases made between 10th September and 4th November 2007 (exclusions apply – refer to point 9).Vouchers will be issued while stocks last.
- Vouchers can only be redeemed in accordance with the instructions in this catalogue and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
- The number of Vouchers required for each item is clearly stated in this catalogue. In addition to the Vouchers, an additional £1 per order is payable to Tesco by schools and clubs for the equipment (for which an invoice will be issued - please refer to clause 13 below).
- By participating in the Scheme, schools and clubs give consent to Tesco to use their details in local press and publicity materials to promote the Scheme in consideration for the sum of £1.
- The sum payable by Tesco to a school or club in paragraph 13 will be offset against the amount payable by the school or club to Tesco in paragraph 12 such that no money need pass physically between Tesco and the school or club. - Orders will be fulfilled by TTS Group. Where there is any reason to believe there has been a breach of these rules, Tesco Stores Limited and TTS Group may legitimately refuse to process an order.

- All coaches will be registered, qualified and licensed with the appropriate sports governing body and will have the appropriate child protection clearance.
- One coaching session in Athletics, Football, Rugby and Tennis shall be 3 hours in duration and may be divided to accommodate the school or club requirement as specified in the catalogue and website. The applicable sports governing body shall supply the coaching objectives and lesson plans.
- Schools and clubs shall be responsible for supporting each coaching session with appropriate staffing level (at least one member of staff must be present at all times throughout the coaching session) and shall be required to supply basic training facilities. If the school or club does not provide the appropriate staffing levels mentioned, the coach may have to stop the session immediately due to health and safety and the remainder of the session will be void.
- Participants partake in coaching sessions at their own risk.
- In the event of bad weather, schools and clubs must have access to an alternative indoor facility to ensure that the Coaching session can continue safely. Tesco cannot be held responsible if the school / club cannot provide an alternative indoor facility which results in the session being cancelled. In the event of cancellation, Tesco will endeavour to re-arrange the session but the school or club may have to contribute to the coach’s travel expenses for the re-arranged session.
- Once the session is booked and confirmation has been sent by Tesco, the coach and the school /club are equally responsible in contacting each other to discuss the specifics of the coach session.
